Description
Working to achieve and maintain accreditation is an important part of working in the American healthcare industry. As the Joint Commission is the “Gold Standard” of healthcare accreditation, it’s the most commonly encountered process. Global Arena’s eLearning course, Working with the Joint Commission, works to help you and your team understand the system. Whether you’re applying for the first time or anticipating your next survey, preparation is vital.
Working with the Joint Commission is available as a self-paced, interactive e-learning course. We designed the course for anyone working with providers and facilities subject to Joint Commission standards. The course is suitable for workers with all levels of Joint Commission regulation awareness. This course is also suited to interpreters looking to learn how to meet and maintain Joint Commission language service standards.
The course includes a thorough exploration of terms and phrases related to Joint Commission accreditation and surveys. Participants learn the importance of standardization in a medical setting and the importance of incorporating standardization into personalized care. The course details preparation procedures for the on-site survey process and explains employee roles. Each survey is different depending on a variety of factors, such as facility size and program-type for seeking accreditation. As such, the course is customizable on demand for your organization’s needs. The base course includes information about every step applicable to all programs. The course concludes by examining the SAFER matrix and appeals process, as well as tips for upholding standards every day. After successful passing of a comprehensive review, participants receive a certificate of course completion.
Working with the Joint Commission generally lasts between 45-60 minutes, depending on the participant. It includes both lecture and interactive slides to engage participants and suit a variety of learning styles. Each section includes review activities to ensure information retention.
